Dr. Laurent Demanet’s academic work and research include computational physics, remote sensing, imaging, signal processing, wave propagation and machine learning. He has made many advances to the development of fast algorithms and machine learning for geophysics and questions motivated by real-life challenges in seismic and radar imaging. Dr. Demanet is Professor of Applied Mathematics at MIT and a former director of the MIT Earth Resources Laboratory.
Dr. Sylvain Jaume's academic and industry work include computer vision, data science, image-guided surgery, medical imaging, machine learning and artificial intelligence. Dr. Jaume is founding director of two data science programs and a data science institute. He has held professorship in computer science and has served as dean and chair for a range of science, engineering and interdisciplinary programs.
Dr. Aimé Fournier's expertise ranges from climate and weather simulation to scientific computation of turbulence and uncertainty quantification. His work currently focuses on geothermal energy and environmental protection and he made significant contributions to the assessment of borehole integrity, carbon sequestration injection, electro-fracking, spacetime-wormhole modeling, and numerical general relativity. Dr. Fournier holds academic positions at the MIT Earth Resources Laboratory and the University of Colorado.
